This deliverable provides (1) the business motivation of the use case partners and gives a more detailed insight into the business domain, (2) the description of the technical challenges that telecommunication industry is confronted and the problems that have to be solved and (3) delivers detailed specification of usage scenarios. Included in this document are also some architectural guidelines that all the prototypes that are going to be built must fulfill. Inside those guidelines, it will be settled the relationship of the scenarios with the architectural description of SUPER and with the rest of components and systems that need to interact with the prototypes. The results of this deliverable provide the requirement specification for the prototype development that are used as reference models for the technical and research activities.
We decided to go for the following Telco scenarios: CRM and Billing, Traffic Routing and Management and Troubleshooting and Mobile environment. - CRM and Billing integration suite: It will enable organizations to improve the services for its customers and partners through the introduction of reliable processes and procedures for interacting with those customers and partners with the introduction of SUPER.
- Traffic Routing, Management, and Troubleshooting: It will suppose to achieve and sustain highest quality levels for Voice over IP applications using SUPER.
- Mobile environment: It involved the management of a home mobile environment and, specially, the downloading information for entertainment, taking into account the great variety of content providers and content features.
Each use case partner is one of the driving forces of one of these scenarios. In the area of CRM and Billing eTel and Polish Telecom are providing scenarios and demonstrate how heterogeneous process with the same overall goal are handled by SUPER technology. The traffic routing and management of troubleshooting is handled by Nexcom. Telefónica takes over the responsibility for the Mobile environment scenario.
The first part of the use case description motivates the section of the use cases and provides an overview of the scenario. Target group are all SUPER partners and business people. The second part describes the detailed processes and services and should be read by all partners involved in the technical development of SUPER components and prototypes.
