ESSI Activities Print E-mail

 As a member of European Semantic Systems Initiative (ESSI), SUPER can take an advantage of:

  • Joint dissemination of the project results and achievements in order to reach higher levels of awareness with lower costs
  • Coordination of research, standardization, and open-source programming
  • Initiatives through cross-project working groups like WSMO, WSML, and WSMX
  • Joint lobbying towards public funding agencies
  • Coordination of research output and visibility towards the scientific community through the coordination and organization of the annual European Semantic Web Conference series and the new  Asian Semantic Web Conference series

 

In the year 2007, the following events will be organized by ESSI Cluster:
 

ESWC2007

4th European Semantic Web Conference will be held in Innsbruck, Austria, June 3 – 7, 2007. The event will be organized by ESSI with a support of DERI Innsbruck.

 

ASWC2007

2nd Asian Semantic Web Conference will be run in Busan, Korea, November 11 – 15, 2007 and will be co-located with ISWC2007.

 

EST2007

1st European Semantic Technology Conference aims to initiate a new European Conference Series. EST2007 is a new meeting ground for customers, developers and researchers to discuss the applicability and commercialization of Semantic technologies in research and in the corporate settings.

 

In the year 2006 the following events were organized with a support of ESSI:
 

ESWC2006

The ESWC Conference series presents the latest results in research and application in Semantic Web technologies and is now the major European meeting ground for researchers, academics and practitioners working on the Semantic Web and Semantic Web technologies. 3rd European Semantic Web Conference was held in Budva, Montenegro, June 11 – 14, 2006. The event was attended by around 300 delegates. Program included eight workshops, seven tutorials, poster and demonstration sessions, 10 industrial presentations and three invited talks.

 

ASWC2006

1st Asian Semantic Web Conference was held in Beijing, China, September 3 – 7, 2006 and initiated ASWC Series. The event was attended by around 150 delegates from Asia and Europe. ASWC was organized by Tsinghua University and co-organised by ESSI. The conference aimed to present latest achievements in research and application in the Semantic Web area in Asia.

 

As a member of ESSI, SUPER is the co-organiser and sponsor of the mentioned above events and can take advantage of the promoting the project results through:

  • Presenting of posters/demos, case studies and workshops at all supported by ESSI events
  • Presenting of project promotional materials like posters, brochures or flyers
  • Displaying project logo on the conference proceedings, website and any conference promotional materials like conference poster, flyer, bag, pen or t-shirt etc.

 

Apart from the promoting of visibility at ESSI organized events, SUPER can also promote its research results and achievements at ESSI website. It includes presenting ESSI projects deliverables at the web site.
